The Best Laid Plans

Bags packed, farewells made, bed ready, RFDS flight scheduled. Dad rang me yesterday afternoon to say he was expecting Mum to be picked up very soon and needed me to come and pick him up from the Redlands hospital when he called.

Not half an hour later, Redlands hospital rang to say the the bed was no longer available and the whole thing was cancelled. Very disappointing.

Mum has to be transferred hospital to hospital to get an RFDS flight and so we’re now looking for another bed in Brisbane. I only hope the nursing home is able to hold her bed as well.

So Mum is still in limbo for the moment. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.
