Mum had a doctor’s appointment at Victoria Point Lakeside this morning so I decided to log into work a bit later and go down with her and Dad to have breakfast at the local Harvest cafe.
Between the hospital visits and the operations, it’s been a while since Mum was able to do something normal like go to a cafe (that wasn’t attached to a nursing home or other medical facility) and so she asked me to take a photo of her and Dad for the blog.

Mum’s been spending her week in the nursing home and her weekend at home and this is working out well for now. So she’s coming home this afternoon and is very happy about that.
She’s having what she calls a ‘Black Dog Day’, which means that her depression is getting the best of her at the moment. Taking the time to create moments of normalcy like this is the best way we can help her with her feelings of loss. That and huge doses of anti-depressants, of course.
