Transitions Part 3 – Exploring options

As you’ve probably guessed from the recent posts, Mum is still in SACU and still doing rehab but there’s broad agreement her progress has slowed and it won’t be long before more permanent arrangements will need to be made. Discussions have already begun with the centre and with her allied health team.

Mum’s options are still:

  1. Go home with Dad as Mum’s primary carer. Mum would obviously continue her rehab on a reduced schedule as an outpatient.
  2. Mum goes into full-time care
  3. A combination of the above two (although I’m not yet entirely sure what that would look like)

As usual, I’ll update the blog once I know more. Until then, keep the visits coming. Mum has been thrilled to have so many lately and I personally think it’s extremely good for her wellbeing as well as her rehab progress.
