Mum had a wonderful Mother’s Day thanks to friends and family and not one but two outings over the weekend.
Saturday morning was “preparation day” when Mum got a trip to the “House of Hair Removal”, otherwise known as the beautician. In my gift post I recommended against pedicure/manicures/hair removal because of Mum’s neuropathic pain but she had no problem with the treatments at all and is now booked in for a massage next week, one of her Mother’s Day gifts.
I do have a photo of Mum getting her nose hair waxed (!) but won’t subject anybody to that.

Sunday morning was Mother’s Day, of course, and one of her wonderful nurses started her off with a full bath and a “layered” Estee Lauder experience with her bath products and powder. Mum felt pretty good when she sojourned to the garden for breakfast and a bit of Skyping.

After catching up with everybody, Mum was Maxi Taxi’d to the “Fish Inn” at the Rockpool on the Strand where she, of course, had steak (NOT fish) and a wonderful catchup with everybody. My brother, Doug, organised everything so thanks so much, Doug! Mum had a great time.
Townsville weather is beautiful in winter (I’m a bit jealous because Canberra has been horrible; gray, rainy, cold and gusty winds). And who can beat a view at lunch like this.

After lunch, Mum had a hummingbird cake from me, baked to perfection by Aunty Deirdre. I can’t imagine where she fit it after she had that lunch, but you know Mum and cake.
Last I spoke to Mum, she was once again Skyping in the SACU Gardens very happy after a great weekend. Thanks, everyone.
