Mum has finally been transferred, this time with even less notice and more insanity than previously. I got a call at midday today that Mum’s flight was ready and the ambulance was leaving at 12:15. I pelted, once again hysterically and possibly hilariously, to the hospital in time to hear the words “short notice” and “reschedule” being muttered by the ambos. Thankfully, the hospital (who had as much time to prepare as we did) got her ready in time and she was loaded into the back of the ambulance at 12:30.
No word yet on her new address in Townsville or on the family’s movements. But Mum is officially away. Thanks so much to all her great friends who kept her company in the RAS unit of the Prince Charles and of course to the staff of the Unit itself. Mum had made significant progress in the last six weeks and you were all a big part of making that happen.
