Transitions Part… I give up

Big news! I’ve been dying to share but now it’s finally confirmed. Mum is moving back to Brisbane and going into an amazing nursing home in Victoria Point.

She’s finally having her kidney stones removed this week and then will be transferred by air ambulance to a local Brisbane hospital before being discharged to the home on Cleveland Redland Bay Road.

The facility is only a kilometre from Mum and Dad’s new Victoria Point home and Mum will have a double room to herself on an extra services floor that has its own diversionary therapist.

The family are all excited and nervous and relieved and a million other emotions about Mum’s move to her new home. She’ll have 24 hour care, daily activities, some therapy, and her own room for her to “nest” in. She’s also only two minutes away from the house where she can spend a night or two on the weekends.

This is the best possible outcome for Mum and for Dad. I’ll let you know when Mum is finally settled into her new home and then I’m sure she’d love as many visitors as she can get.
