Ask us, any of us, the question and we’ll all give the same answer. Mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, niece, nephew, grandchild. If you’re a member of the Ensor family, you only have one answer and it’s the same. For four generations.
Where’s your favourite place?
Through the years, the decades, the generations, we’ve all come back here. We all exist here no matter where we are and we all want our ashes to end up here. It’s our home.
It’s no surprise that Mum, who has been going here for nigh on 70 years, wanted to visit before she went back to Brisbane. Nobody wants to say it but it may be her last opportunity, especially once she moves.
So this week, Dad and Doug made it possible.
They only went for a day: a ferry across from the mainland, a lunch at the pub, a swim in the bay using a beach wheelchair. Doug, Michelle and Brianna were already over there on holidays.
Mum loved it, of course, although she was a bit scared at times in the beach wheelchair, especially going into the water.
But it was wonderful that, before she moved back to Brisbane, Mum finally got to go home
