Townsville ahoy

The Townsville General Hospital accepted Mum as a patient today so her move is now confirmed. We’re waiting, as before, for a bed and a transfer flight so no news yet as to the exact date. As we all remember well, getting Mum transferred from Mornington took a week or two. Getting an air ambulance can take some time.

At least Mum is settled at the Prince Charles and is benefitting a great deal from their intensive therapy so if it takes a week or two that’s not a bad thing.

And, while you’re all here….

Mum also wanted to let everyone know that she had a great physio session today. She practised standing and her bed rolls. Her left leg is much stronger and she’ll hopefully get strong enough to be able to do one-person transfers. That’s the goal for the moment.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Townsvile. I am happy to hear you are improving with the reading Genny. I can still remember vividly, you sitting on a blanket in the grounds of St Anne’s deeply engrossed in a book.
