It was Mum’s first day in rehab today but, of course, being a Saturday there wasn’t a great deal of rehab going on.
Mum was a bit despondent when we got in this morning but by this afternoon she was propped up in her chair in the common room having a cup of hot thickened tea and doing a crossword. Unfortunately for her, the response of “Wubbish, Mr Wabbit” when the answer was ‘waste’ did not fly.
Mum also had some visitors this afternoon, which always cheers her up. Pedro and Annie Dunlop are friends of Gail and Martin. Gail and Mum went to school together and have been best friends for 55 years.
Mum’s rehabilitation proper will start on Monday but until then it’s probably good she’s getting the chance to get some rest.
